We woke up at the Sunset Beach Motel looking forward to the move to Tahaa but sorry to say good by to “one of the best places we have ever stayed”.
The sun goes down fast, but the show goes on for another hour. Our last night we walked the dock in the pitch black to review the stars. Confusing to those of us from the northern hemisphere, but we’re trying to make sense of it all.
A few closing shots on our stay on Raiatea.
My new BBQ banana, called Sunset Bananas:
1 banana, split so it will lay flat on the fire, one chocolate bar with any kind of crunch, peanut butter, coconut cookie or any kind of crunch cookie.
Keep peel on. Split meat of banana, spread with peanut butter, stuff in chocolate and broken up cookie, lay on cool coals for about 10 minutes. Eat right out of the peel. serves 2. (Sometimes the bananas need to be covered up or they come with a free lizard, see below.)
Until, next time!
For those of you who find themselves on the island of Raiatea, Mike and I put our stamp or approval on this place!
